Dear DottedSign users,
We would like to inform you about an upcoming adjustment to our task naming format, aimed at enhancing compatibility with general operating systems and cloud storage platforms.
What's Changing?
Effective from August 8th, 2023 at UTC 11:00 AM, we will be adjusting our task naming format. When creating new tasks, editing drafts and templates, or exporting completed tasks to cloud storage, please note that the following symbols will no longer be allowed in task names:
~ " # % & * : < > ? / \ { | }.
Timeline for Implementation: Changes Start on August 8th, 2023 at UTC 11:00 AM
Impact on Your Templates and Tasks
Starting from August 8th, the restricted symbols mentioned above will be automatically removed from the names of the following tasks:
- Existing templates
- Exporting the completed tasks to cloud storage services
However, if your tasks are any of the following, the task names will remain unaffected:
- Tasks sent before August 8th and awaiting signatures from others
- Tasks completed before August 8th
- Document copies exported to cloud storage before August 8th
Impact on Your Public Forms
Kindly note that your public forms might be affected based on their current status. Please see the following:
- Publish: Starting from August 8th, the restricted symbols mentioned above will be automatically removed from the names of the published public forms. New tasks created on and after this date will follow the updated task names. Tasks completed before this date will remain unaffected.
- Unpublish: Starting from August 8th, the restricted symbols mentioned above will be automatically removed from the names of the unpublished public forms. Tasks completed before this date will remain unaffected.
- Terminated: Completed tasks will remain unaffected.
When downloading in bulk or exporting completed tasks to CSV, please note that task names will appear differently based on the above statuses.
Who is Affected?
This update will affect users across all DottedSign plans, including Free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise, using our Web app, iOS app, and Android app, as well as DottedSign Standard API users.
Action Required
To ensure a seamless experience with DottedSign, we kindly ask you to review and adjust any file names containing the restricted symbols mentioned above before August 8th, 2023. This will help you avoid any inconvenience or compatibility issues in the future.
We Are Committed to Enhance Your Task Management Experience
We believe that by restricting the usage of these special symbols, we can mitigate potential compatibility issues that may arise when sending and exporting signature requests across different platforms and systems.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@info-dottedsign.com.
We appreciate your trust and look forward to providing you with an even better document-signing experience!
Best regards,
The DottedSign team
