The DottedSign Sandbox Environment (hereinafter referred to as Sandbox) is a testing environment that simulates the DottedSign Production Environment (hereinafter referred to as Production). It allows developers to integrate with DottedSign Open API and conduct functionality tests. With Sandbox, you can:
- Experience the API: Familiarize yourself with DottedSign API parameters and integration details to reduce implementation costs.
- Complete API Testing: Developers can access all Open API endpoints in Sandbox to verify the accuracy of API calls.
- Test New Features: When DottedSign introduces new features, developers can test and integrate them in Sandbox first, preventing disruptions to existing applications in the production environment.
How to Use
Developers can access Sandbox and perform tests as follows:

Access the Sandbox Environment
- Sandbox URL: https://sandbox.dottedsign.com/

Register or Log in
- The sandbox environment allows developers to register and activate an enterprise plan for free, gaining access to the same features as the production environment, such as Admin Console, Bulk Send, and Front Desk Signing.
- Sandbox accounts are independent of production accounts; even if the same email is used, they are separate accounts.

API Testing
- Please refer to the DottedSign API documentation or the Developer documentation.
- Sandbox provides the same API functionalities as the production environment, but some features may be limited (e.g., task creation limits).
- Once API tests are successful, the same API calls can be used in the production environment.
Important Notes
- Sandbox is for testing purposes only and has no legal validity: Any signatures or actions performed in Sandbox are not legally binding.
- Sandbox and Production environments have different URLs: Ensure that you use the correct URL when switching between Sandbox and Production.
- Feature limitations: Some features may be restricted in the Sandbox environment, such as the number of tasks that can be created. Additionally, third-party integrations (e.g., Google Drive or OneDrive export) are not supported, and testing is only available on the web. Mobile apps are not supported.
- Email notifications: All email notifications from Sandbox will include “Sandbox” in the subject line for easy identification.
- Independent account mechanism: Sandbox and production accounts are not linked. Even if the same email is used, they remain separate accounts.
- Regular data purge mechanism: To reduce storage resources and operational costs, all tasks created in Sandbox are retained for one quarter only. After this period, both the database and original files will be completely purged and cannot be recovered.
- Document watermark and certification restrictions: Any documents, tasks, or templates created in Sandbox are for testing purposes only. Documents will include a “Non Official” watermark and will not contain digital certificates.
