New Plan Pricing Model
The new Business and Enterprise plan adopts a "per task" pricing model, with an annual quota that can be used flexibly throughout the year until it’s fully consumed. The more tasks you purchase, the higher the discount you can receive based on the quantity tiers. For more information on pricing, please refer to this announcement. You can refer to your usage over the past year to determine the number of tasks to purchase.
Definition of Signature Task:
- Sent (non-draft) Get Signature tasks, including Bulk Send
- Completed Self-Signing tasks
- Completed Front Desk Signing tasks
- Completed Public Form tasks, meaning all signers have finished signing
- Tasks saved as drafts are not counted toward the quota.

How to view my task usage:
- Business & Enterprise plan: Please log in as an Admin on DottedSign. Go to Admin Console > Task Reporting, select the date range, and view the number of "Created Tasks". Below is an example:
- Pro & Free plan user: Please log in to DottedSign, go to the “Search” page, and select the date range to view the number of signed tasks sent.
Note: The number of documents displayed on the Search page includes “tasks sent by others that require your signature”. Therefore, the total number of tasks in the search results may be higher than the actual billable tasks. Please note that tasks sent by others are not billable.
Important Reminder: When to Transition to the New Plan?
For users on the current Business plan and Enterprise plan:
- If your current plan expires before April 20th, 2026, you can choose to renew your current plan or transition to the new plan upon renewal.
- If your current plan expires after April 21st, 2026, please transition to the new plan before your plan expires, or it will automatically downgrade to a free plan.
To check your plan's expiration date, please log in as an Admin to DottedSign and visit the Billing Information page.
Billing Information Page Example:
In the Billing Information page, you will see detailed billing information as shown below. The following scenario illustrates the Admin console of a Business plan, with the subscription validity period extended beyond the auto-renewal period:
- Next Payment Due: Your plan will expire on April 30, 2026.
- Renewal and Transition: After this expiration date, auto-renewal will no longer apply. The Admin must transition to the new plan before this date, or the account will be downgraded to the free plan.
- How to change plan:
- Business plan user: Click "Change Plan" to transition to the new Business plan (task-based pricing).
- Enterprise plan user: Please contact your account manager to change to the new Enterprise Plan.
FAQ
- Will my tasks, templates, public forms, and related signing settings be affected when changing from my current plan to the new one?
Rest assured that the plan transition will not affect your tasks, templates, public forms, or any related signing settings. All data and features will seamlessly continue, ensuring your business operations remain uninterrupted.
- What impact will occur if my plan is downgraded to the Free Plan?
As the Admin, if your plan is downgraded to the Free Plan, your usage permissions will be affected, including but not limited to the following:
- No new signature invitations: You will be unable to create new signature tasks or send signing invitations.
- Limited access to advanced features: Paid plan-exclusive features (e.g., bulk send, team management, API integrations) will no longer be available.
- Workflow Interrupted: Advanced signing settings will be temporarily unavailable, and any in-progress signature tasks will be marked as Pending.
We recommend checking your subscription status and considering a resubscription to a paid plan to avoid interruptions in your signing process.
- What should I do if I run out of tasks?
You can purchase additional tasks or switch plans to increase your task count based on your needs:
Add-on Tasks: When purchasing additional tasks during your subscription period, the new task count will be merged with your remaining tasks, and the expiration date will match the original subscription. This means the new task quota will expire at the same time as your current plan.
Please note that upon renewal, your subscription will retain its original price and task quota. Any additional tasks previously purchased will not be carried over.
Plan Switch: If your subscription is still active (ie, within the one-year validity period), you can switch to a new subscription plan with a new task amount. The new task amount will be valid for one year from the purchase date. Please note that your original plan will be terminated on the same day, and any remaining tasks from the original plan will be lost.
- How can I check the remaining task count?
You can check the number of tasks purchased and used on the Admin Console > Billing Information page.
You will also receive real-time notifications when the task usage is nearing its limit. If the task count is exhausted, you can purchase additional tasks within the current subscription period (without changing the plan expiration date) or upgrade to a plan with more tasks (which will reset the expiration date). If neither is done, you will get new tasks and send signature requests until renewal
-
Will my account downgrade to the Free Plan if I run out of tasks? Will already-sent tasks be affected?
No, your account will not downgrade to the Free Plan, and already sent tasks will not be affected. Signer can still complete the signing process. However, public forms are billed based on completed tasks, so if your task count runs out, you will not be able to receive new public form submissions until you purchase additional tasks, upgrade to a plan with more tasks, or wait for the next renewal.
- What should I do if my task usage exceeds the limit after subscribing to a new plan?
If your task usage exceeds the limit, you will not be able to send new signature tasks until your renewal. You can also choose to purchase additional tasks or upgrade to a plan with more tasks.
- Can I carry over unused task counts to the next subscription period?
Unfortunately, tasks must be used before the current subscription expires. Any remaining tasks cannot be carried over to the next subscription period.
-
If a task is expired or failed, or needs to be re-signed, will the task count be recalculated?
The task count is based on different signing modes; therefore the status of the task (e.g., overdue, failed, or re-signed) does not affect the quota count. Please refer to the above “New Plan Pricing Model” for the pricing definition.
