In corporate digital signing workflows, signers frequently face challenges such as limited reading time, complex document content, or language barriers in cross-border collaborations. This is especially true for contracts involving crucial details like amounts, obligations, durations, and termination clauses, which often require significant time to read and comprehend.
With DottedSign’s AI Summary features, signers can quickly grasp key document points in their preferred language. When a signer opens a pending document (e.g., a contract), they can get a summary and key insights with just one click. This allows them to quickly understand critical clauses—such as financial amounts, timelines, and obligations—and complete the signing process much more efficiently.
Eligible Plans
This feature is currently available in Beta for users on the following plans:
- DottedSign Pro
- DottedSign Business
- DottedSign Enterprise
Note: Both the sender and the signer must be members of the above plans to utilize the AI features.
Limitations & Important Notes
Before using the AI Summary feature, please keep the following limitations in mind:
- One Generation Per Task: An AI summary can only be generated once per signing task.
- Language Lock: The AI summary will be generated in the language selected during the initial generation. Once generated, switching the interface language will not allow you to regenerate the summary in another language.
- Role-Based Content: The AI summary is generated based on the signer's specific role and document viewing permissions.
- Excludes Reference: If the task includes "Reference”, the AI summary will not include content from those files.
How Senders Enable AI Permissions
- After completing the signing task setup, click "Continue" to proceed to the final "Review & Send" page.
- Scroll down to the "Settings" section.
- Toggle on "Signers can use the AI generation feature".
Once enabled, signers will be able to use the AI feature to view:
- Task Summaries
- Key Information
This helps signers understand the document content more rapidly, reducing the time and cognitive effort required during the signing process.
Note: This feature must be manually enabled when sending a task. Once turned on, the AI will analyze the contract content and generate the summary.
How Signers Use the AI Summary Feature
- Upon receiving and opening the signing task, the signer will see an AI icon in the bottom right corner of the screen.
- Click the AI icon to open the panel, then click "Generate Task Summary and Key Information".
- The system will automatically generate a summary and key information analyses based on your signing role and document access permissions, helping you quickly master the document content and critical clauses.
Note: Since the summary can only be generated once per task, it is highly recommended to confirm your preferred language before clicking Generate.
