How to Report a Suspicious DottedSign Signing Invitation or Suspected Misuse?

If you receive a suspicious DottedSign signing invitation or believe that someone may be using DottedSign for scams, spam, or other inappropriate activities, you can submit an abuse report to DottedSign. Once we receive your report, we will investigate the reported activity and follow up with you by email.

When Should I Submit an Abuse Report?

You can submit an abuse report if you receive a suspicious DottedSign signing invitation or believe that someone may be using DottedSign for scams, spam, or other inappropriate activities. You can submit a report even if you do not have a DottedSign account.

 

Information Required to Submit a Report

The abuse report form requires or allows you to provide the following information:

  • (Required) Email address: Enter your contact email address so you can receive confirmation of your report and any follow-up messages.
  • (Required) Suspicious sender email address: Enter the email address of the sender of the suspicious signing invitation.
  • (Required) Recipient email address: Enter the email address that received the signing invitation.
  • (Optional) Signing invitation link or Task ID: Paste the signing link from the invitation email, or provide the 7-digit Task ID. If you cannot provide the signing invitation link, forward the original invitation email to support@info-dottedsign.com.
  • (Required) Description: Briefly explain why you believe the signing invitation is suspicious and provide any other relevant details.
  • (Optional) Attachments: If needed, attach files that are relevant to your report.

Note: Only provide information that is necessary for your report. Do not provide your password, one-time password (OTP), payment information, or any other sensitive personal data.

 

How to Submit an Abuse Report

Go to the Abuse Report Form and select "Report Service Abuse / Suspicious Signing Invitation" as the request type.

Follow the instructions on the form to enter your contact information and report details. If you cannot provide the signing invitation link, forward the original invitation email to support@info-dottedsign.com.

Review the information you entered, then click "Submit."

 

What Happens After I Submit a Report?

After you submit the form, you will receive an automatic confirmation email from DottedSign that includes your ticket ID. If you have additional information to provide later, you can reply directly to the confirmation email.

The DottedSign team will investigate the information in your report and take action based on the findings. If we need additional information during the investigation, we will contact you at the email address you entered in the form.

Once the investigation is complete, we will follow up with you by email.

 

Will Submitting an Abuse Report Immediately Stop the Signing Task?

Submitting an abuse report does not immediately stop the signing task.

After receiving your report, the DottedSign team will investigate the information you provided and take action based on the findings. If we confirm that the activity involves misuse of DottedSign, we will suspend the related accounts and domains and terminate the related signing tasks.

 

What Is the Difference Between an Abuse Report and "Decline to Sign"?

These two actions serve different purposes and cannot be used interchangeably:

  • Decline to Sign: Use this option if you simply do not wish to complete the signing process. If enabled by the sender, you can select "Decline to Sign" directly on the signing page.
  • Report Abuse: Use this option if you suspect the invitation involves scams, spam, or security risks and wish to have DottedSign investigate. Submit an abuse report.

Declining a signing request does not automatically submit an abuse report. Likewise, submitting an abuse report does not automatically decline the signing request.

If you want to both decline the signing request and report suspected misuse to DottedSign, complete each action separately.
